Objectuve Brand Philosophy
Name & Tagline
Objectuve — a deliberate blend of objective and vue (French: sight, vision). The name signals intentionality: clear goals, forward momentum, a point of view.
Tagline: Every day adds up.
Mission
Objectuve is a gamified goal tracking and social accountability platform that transforms productivity into a rewarding, game-like experience — making the pursuit of your goals feel as satisfying as leveling up in a video game.
We believe the hardest part of achieving anything isn't knowing what to do. It's staying consistent when no one is watching. Objectuve exists to fix that: by making the act of showing up feel good, every single day.
Brand Philosophy: The Anti-Social App
Objectuve is intentionally an anti-social app.
Most social platforms are designed to maximize time-on-app. Objectuve is designed to minimize it. The target session: ~10 minutes a day. Open it, do your thing, feel accomplished, leave.
This is the Duolingo model applied to personal growth: a tight, repeatable engagement loop that rewards action over consumption. We measure success by what users do when they close the app — not by how long we kept them on it.
Active screen time management: If a user spends extended time in a session (~15+ minutes), the app gently nudges them to take a break. If session activity skews heavily toward browsing others' content rather than working on their own goals, the app suggests returning to their dashboard or check-ins. All session tracking is client-side only (privacy-preserving) and there are no hard limits — just friendly, coach-toned reminders.
What we build toward
- One-tap check-ins that take seconds, not minutes
- Immediate feedback loops: streaks tick up, XP pops, badges unlock
- A feed that shows you what needs your attention, not endless content to scroll
- AI prompts that drive an action, then get out of the way
- Clear, visible progress so users feel the momentum building
What we deliberately avoid
- Infinite scroll
- Algorithmic content designed to trigger compulsive re-engagement
- Autoplay, notifications engineered to create anxiety, or FOMO mechanics
- Social features that reward passive consumption over active participation
- Dark patterns of any kind
The social layer exists for accountability, not entertainment
Communities, encouragements, and public goals serve one purpose: making users feel seen and supported in their pursuit of something real. Social features are designed around doing, not watching. A "like" on Objectuve means "I see you doing the work" — not content engagement.
Core Value Propositions
| Differentiator | Description |
|---|---|
| Anti-addictive design | Intentionally limits time-on-app. Engagement is earned through achievement, not manufactured through manipulation. |
| Full gamification suite | Streaks + XP + Badges + Ranks + Levels — a complete progression system that makes consistency intrinsically rewarding. |
| Healthy community | Accountability-focused social features. No toxicity, no passive consumption, no endless feed. |
| AI coaching | Personalized insights, milestone suggestions, and contextual coaching — proactive and brief, never noisy. |
| Cross-platform | Native iOS, Android, and web from a single codebase. Your goals travel with you. |
Gamification System
The system is the core of the product's identity. Every user moves through a single shared progression arc:
Ranks (10 levels)
| Rank | Name |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open Road |
| 2 | Bearings |
| 3 | Full Stride |
| 4 | Second Wind |
| 5 | Long Haul |
| 6 | Ridgeline |
| 7 | Frontier |
| 8 | Wayfinder |
| 9 | Far Country |
| 10 | Horizon |
Theme scope: The rank names use a distance/journey metaphor — forward motion, covering ground, reaching new territory. Core UI, features, and copy remain professional and accessible. Goals are goals, not "quests." This keeps the gamification grounded and earned without alienating users who want a serious productivity tool.
Two rank ladders exist. This is the XP rank ladder (level-based, shown in the Achievements page). A separate streak rank ladder (
ionic_frontend/src/composables/streakRanks.ts) keeps the original First Stone → Legacy masonry names, derived from streak-day count, not XP. Seedocs/architecture/ddd/02-ubiquitous-language.md§ Rank (Streak) / Rank (XP) anddocs/features/achievements.md.
Badges (Rarity Tiers)
| Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Common | Entry-level milestones — first goal, first check-in |
| Rare | Sustained effort — 7-day streak, community join |
| Epic | Real commitment — major streaks, goal completion |
| Legendary | Exceptional — rare, aspirational, status-defining |
XP & Streaks
XP is earned through meaningful actions: logging a goal event, completing a milestone, encouraging a peer, checking in daily. Streaks are the daily consistency signal — the single most important habit-reinforcing mechanic in the product.
Target Audience
Objectuve is built for people who:
- Have real goals they care about but struggle to stay consistent
- Want structure and accountability without the overhead of a productivity system
- Respond to progress feedback — streaks, levels, visible milestones
- Value community as a source of support, not entertainment
- Are tired of apps that demand their attention; want one that rewards their effort
Not built for: passive consumers, users looking for content to browse, or people who want social media disguised as a productivity tool.
Tone of Voice
Character
Objectuve speaks like a coach who's also a friend — encouraging, direct, and genuinely excited about your progress. Never preachy. Never patronizing. Always on your side.
Principles
- Playful, not childish — gamification language is used deliberately, not as decoration
- Empowering, not motivational-poster — concrete and specific, not generic hype
- Action-forward — lead with verbs; every message points toward something to do
- Brief — say it in one sentence. If you can't, cut it down.
- Celebratory without being sycophantic — earn the celebration; don't give empty praise
In Brand
"Day 3. The streak is building." "First goal set. The foundation starts here." "Your community sees the work you're putting in." "Level up. Every day added up to this." "Small steps. You're proving it."
Out of Brand
"Maximize your synergies to achieve your full potential!" "Don't forget to check in or you'll lose everything!" "Your friends are doing better than you — catch up!" "Congratulations on doing literally anything!"
Key Messages
These are the headline phrases used consistently across marketing, onboarding, and in-app copy:
- "Every day adds up." — the primary tagline; a quiet truth about consistency compounding into real achievement
- "Track goals, earn XP, collect badges, and level up with your community." — the product in one sentence
- "Small steps, rewarded." — positions Objectuve as a system that makes daily consistency feel worthwhile
- "Join thousands proving that consistency compounds — one level at a time." — community + the stacking philosophy
- "Free for individuals, forever. No credit card required." — removes the biggest barrier to trying something new. An optional Supporter tier exists for those who want to give back, and a Teams tier unlocks collaboration features for organizations. See
docs/product/pricing-philosophy.md.
Visual Identity
The Objectuve visual language is modern, energetic, and premium — designed to feel polished on mobile without being sterile.
Logo
The Objectuve mark is a 270-degree arc ring with a symmetric taper at its leading edge and a gold dot in the gap. The ring represents accumulated progress; the taper adds directional momentum (a verb, not a noun); the gold dot is the next milestone waiting to be reached. Together, the taper encodes streaks (continuous effort) and the dot encodes badges (discrete achievement) — the two core gamification mechanics.
The primary logo is the integrated lockup where the mark replaces the O in "bjectuve." Use the icon-only mark for compact contexts (favicons, app icons, avatars).
See the full Logo Rationale for the design journey, brand alignment, and usage guidelines. Download approved logo, icon, and typeface files at design.objectuve.com/brand-kit — see Brand Kit for what's included and how to regenerate it.
Primary Palette
| Role | Color | Hex | CSS Variable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary | Blue | #177bbb | --primary |
| Primary Light | Cyan | #05cbfc | --primary-light |
| Accent | Orange | #f28529 | --accent |
| Achievement | Gold | #fcc419 | --gold |
| Coach | Purple | #a855f7 | --coach |
| Success | Emerald | #0b7f58 | --success |
| Dark base | Midnight | #0B0E17 | --background |
The primary gradient — #177bbb → #05cbfc — is the brand's signature visual. It appears on CTAs, hero sections, and key interactive elements.
Reserved Color Roles
Five colors carry specific semantic meaning and should only be used in their designated contexts. See the full Gold vs Emerald Philosophy for the decision heuristic and detailed use cases.
Gold (
#fcc419) — Reserved for moments the user earns. Gold signals personal accomplishment: the result of effort, consistency, or skill. The gold "Progress Point" (the dot in the logo mark) is the brand's universal symbol for accomplishment. Use gold for: badge unlock celebrations, legendary rarity effects, XP progress bars, rank display stars, milestone celebration animations, streak milestones, near-unlock pulse effects, and the Progress Point component. Gold is scarce by design — it must always mean "you did something worth celebrating." Never use gold for routine system feedback or general UI decoration.Emerald (
#0b7f58) — Used for system confirmations and positive state. Emerald signals that an action worked, a status is healthy, or a state is complete. Use emerald for: task/habit completion checkmarks, "Completed" status labels, on-track pace indicators, health checks, form submission confirmations, success toasts, and persistent done-state indicators. Emerald is abundant by design — it makes the app feel responsive and reliable. Never use emerald for celebratory moments that should feel special.Gold vs Emerald on "completion": Completion has two temporal phases. The celebration moment (gold) — confetti, glow, achievement toast — is event-driven and short-lived. The persistent done-state (emerald) — checkmark, "Completed" label — is state-driven and permanent. Gold is the carrot; emerald is the receipt.
Purple (
#a855f7) — Reserved for the AI Coach persona. Purple signals that content, actions, or insights come from the AI coach. Use purple for: coach FAB button, AI insight cards, coach chat interface, epic badge rarity, and any AI-generated content indicators. Purple differentiates AI-powered features from user-driven actions.Primary Blue (
#177bbb → #05cbfc) — The default interactive color for navigation, links, CTAs, progress indicators, and general interactive elements. Blue is the neutral "action" color — it doesn't carry the special semantic weight of gold, emerald, or purple.Light-mode active-state contrast (resolved — OBJ-164):
SideMenuactive-nav andBottomTabBaractive-tab previously measured below WCAG AA (4.35–4.47:1 vs 4.5:1 minimum). A dedicated--primary-interactivetoken (203 78% 35%, 6pp darker than canonical--primary) was introduced for these surfaces. This value clears WCAG AA on both plain background (5.62:1) and SideMenu composite background with the--primary/0.12selection tint (4.83:1). The canonical--primarytoken remains203 78% 41%for all other contexts. When specifying active nav states, use--primary-interactive/text-primary-interactive/bg-primary-interactive; use--primaryeverywhere else. Dark mode is unaffected (--primary-interactiveequals--primaryat203 78% 61%in dark mode, which already passes WCAG AA).Warning (
#f59e0b/--warning) — Used for non-blocking attention states. Warning signals that something needs the user's attention but is not broken or failed. Use warning for:needs-attentiongoal status indicators, goal-progress nudges, soft deadline notices, and any state where action is encouraged but not urgent. Token:--warning(light:38 92% 50%, dark:38 92% 60%); foreground:--warning-foreground. Canonical Tailwind utilities:bg-warning,text-warning,text-warning-foreground. Do not use warning for hard errors (use--destructive) or for thegoldgoal-category color path (thoseamber-*values encode the user's selected goal color, not status).
Typography
- Headlines: Outfit (weights 600–800) — tight letter-spacing, strong presence
- Body: Inter (weights 400–600) — readable, neutral, widely trusted
Style
- Glassmorphism-inspired cards with soft shadows and rounded corners
- Generous whitespace and breathing room
- Smooth, purposeful animation — not decorative, but responsive to user action
- Dark and light modes, both first-class
Design System
The full design system lives at design.objectuve.com — a curated gallery of brand philosophy, color palette, typography, spacing, shadows, gradients, animations, and component patterns. The interactive component playground is at storybook.objectuve.com. Run locally with npm run storybook in ionic_frontend/. The project currently includes 352 stories covering core UI elements, admin dashboard views, and design system tokens.
Rarity Tokens
Four CSS custom property pairs encode badge rarity tiers. Consume as hsl(var(--rarity-X) / <alpha>) for alpha-composited backgrounds or hsl(var(--rarity-X)) for solid fills.
| Tier | Token | Light (HSL) | Dark (HSL) | Semantic anchor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | --rarity-common | 215 16% 42% | 215 20% 65% | --muted-foreground range |
| Common fg | --rarity-common-foreground | 0 0% 100% | 222 47% 8% | — |
| Rare | --rarity-rare | 217 91% 45% | 217 91% 70% | Blue family |
| Rare fg | --rarity-rare-foreground | 0 0% 100% | 222 47% 8% | — |
| Epic | --rarity-epic | 271 91% 55% | 271 91% 70% | Anchored to --coach |
| Epic fg | --rarity-epic-foreground | 271 91% 98% | 271 91% 20% | — |
| Legendary | --rarity-legendary | 43 96% 56% | 43 96% 64% | Anchored to --gold |
| Legendary fg | --rarity-legendary-foreground | 43 96% 20% | 43 96% 20% | — |
Tailwind utilities: bg-rarity-common, text-rarity-common-foreground, bg-rarity-rare, bg-rarity-epic, bg-rarity-legendary, etc. Defined in design_system/css/tokens.css and design_system/tailwind-tokens.cjs, consumed by all frontends.
What Objectuve Is Not
It helps to define the boundaries explicitly:
- Not a to-do app — Objectuve is about goals and identity, not task management
- Not a social network — The social layer exists for accountability, not content consumption or follower counts
- Not a fitness tracker — Health is one of many goal categories; the platform is category-agnostic
- Not another productivity system — No complex workflows, templates, or configuration. Minimal friction.
- Not an engagement-maximizing platform — We will always choose a user's long-term wellbeing over a short-term engagement metric
